About Us
The Christchurch Fellowship of Churches was formed over 25 years ago, with the purpose of bringing together the churches in the town for their mutual encouragement, support and coordination, while respecting their diversity.
The aim is to enhance our witness, outreach and service in our community, through the work of God's Holy Spirit. The Fellowship holds regular meetings of the church leaders and representatives, and sometimes suppers, united worship celebrations, networking information and special events.
Past activities have included:
- Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
- A Bible Experience exhibition
- March For Jesus
- Christian musical productions
- School events
- Hosting productions by The Saltmine Theatre Company
- Donation of books to local libraries
In October 2023 Colin Bennett became the Convenor and chair of the Christchurch Fellowship of Churches.
Colin and his wife Yvonne are long-standing members of Godfirst Church. They have been working at Moorlands College christian training centre in Christchurch for over two decades, including as Vice Principal. They have three grown-up children.
