Community Involvement

Christchurch Food Bank CHRISTCHURCH FOOD BANK
Operating since September 2011 it is now located in the Old Chapel at St Joseph's Church, 67 Purewell BH23 1EH. We are a partnership with Faithworks Wessex serving those people of Christchurch who find themselves in crisis and unable to buy food, the Foodbank is now a Foodbank+.

Through its other projects, Furniture Bank, cooking on a budget workshops, Budget and money management and Homeless Drop-in the Foodbank+ assists people in the community on their journey out of crisis. Tinned and packet foods are donated by individuals, Churches, schools, local businesses and through supermarket collection points.

A three day supply of food is given upon the presentation of a voucher given to the client by one of nearly 90 "referrers" in the Christchurch area. The Food Bank is manned by our 36 volunteers from our Churches and local community who wish to help those in need.

CHRISTCHURCH COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
The Christchurch Community Partnership (CCP) is an established local independent charity which seeks to work with other voluntary and statutory organisations to both identify gaps in provision, and to deliver much needed services to the community.

Our projects all seek to address the significant issue of social isolation which impacts on residents across both the age and socio-economic spectrum and to improve the quality of life for all who live and work in Christchurch.

Water Lily Project

The Water Lily Project
Women Loved and Protected

The Water Lily Project is a Christian charity serving Christchurch and surrounding areas, supporting all local women. We meet once a week as a group in central Christchurch to provide friendship and encouragement. One-to-one practical emotional outreach support is available for those who need it. Various forms of support are available from filling in forms to supporting young children.

The team, who have all lived in Christchurch and played an active part in the community for many years, have a variety of skills and professional expertise including education, health and social care.
